CHI OMEGA
RHO KAPPA CHAPTER AT ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY
The History of Chi Omega
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets, symbols, and rites that today bind over 240,000 women. This group founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women.

The History of the Rho Kappa Chapter
The Rho Kappa Chapter was established at Illinois State University in 1974. The very first Rho Kappa Chapter president, Lisa Lamb Brummer, noted in honor of our 30th Anniversary, "To this day I attribute my sorority days with teaching me about how to mesh with many different personalities."
Today we have over 100 active members and nearly 800 alumnae living in all different parts of the United States.
